Ab Raja Ka Beta Raja Nahin Banega, Ab Raja Wahi Banega Jo Haqdaar Hoga

Who are we as human beings if we ignore the suffering of others ?

A recent incident made me think about this. I went to watch 'Super 30', a wonderful film that showcases the hardships faced by lower caste people. At the end of the movie everybody praises the effort of a man who helped 30 students meet the one time impossible dream for them. Felt very much happy about it.

As the movie ended, I took the lift along with my friends and the lift man. The lift had place for two more people in it. As the lift stopped at the second floor and the door opened, there were these guys who worked at the mall in shabby clothes.

The lift man didn't allow them to enter the lift. The lift closed and before I understood anything or before I could question him about it the lift stopped at the next floor. The door opened and there was a family whom he asked if they wanted to come. As they were more in number they refused.

I was taken aback by this incident. I wondered why the lift man asked those people who dint wanted to come and why he refused to those who were willing to.

I just had finished watching a movie which taught us that everybody was equal and we should treat each other so. And to the very next moment this happened.
Did he judged them based on their clothes, looks ?

I thot that watching or praising a movie which showcases this present condition wouldn't help, but practicing in our day-to-day life would help.

We will have to change our mindset towards such things because then and only then we would be able to take a step ahead, towards a better society.
