Changing Dynamics In Indian Media

Tum system ko badalne ki koshish karte ho, aur ye system khud tumko badal deta hain.

Looking at the changing phenomena in the Indian politics it is not hard to notice that even the paid media have no started to take a u-turn and have gone all guns blazing against the government be it over CAA, NRC or the most recent JNU attacks.

Along with the media that was once supporting this government, now even the judiciary and students across the country have turned against the current government. Indian judiciary system have become unbiased and have given out verdict ignoring the amount of pressure from various sources.

Also students from various institutions have come out and protested against the current government time and again. Bollywood stars who were once seen having dinners with important persons in Indian politics have now started raising their voice against the current government.

Now to understand this, that how did this happened suddenly we can look at certain aspects:

Change of government in Maharashtra: Mumbai has always been home to offices of large MNC's and is also the financial capital of India. Now as the newly elected government is operating in Mumbai, the previously paid media houses have now started acting as 'neutral'. One of the reason behind this change could be the financial security that they are now receiving after this change in government or it can also be the fear from them. After all no one would like to go against their bosses be it a media house or a normal office.

Non BJP government in the state might be the reason to reinstate the belief that after raising voice against the current government it will not result in disabling or dismantling of the media houses among the media fraternity. All the journalist from TV today group (Anjana Om Kashyap, Rahul Kanwal, Shweta Singh) who were once in process of glorifying our current PM have now started asking correct and to the point questions to the duo of Amit Shah and Modi.

Arnab Goswami elected as president of News Broadcasters Federation’s governing board: Even when a larger group (TV Today) was present, the president of the News Broadcasters Federation’s was elected from a smaller group (Republic TV). Now I don't want to comment on to what extent the election process has been hijacked in India, but BJP clearly wanted Arnab to be the president. Because of this, the journalist who were showering praises over praises on PM, started criticizing the government.

Increased active participation of youth in politics - It is observed participation of the youth in politics is increasing day by day and that reflects from the large number of youth coming together for Anti CAA protest, protest against NRC or the article 370 abrogation protest. Right from Assam to the other corners of India, youth have started raising their voice and have started asking questions to government about development in India, lowering GDP, jobs availability and other things. And about youth, here I mean is the youth from all streams of society and not the youth that is protesting in JNU. Media have understood the sentiments of the youth and hence have changed its stance against the current government.

Recently BJP minister Amitabh Sinha, while talking on national television addressed students as parasite which means 'Keeda' in local language. Did he said because students have started asking questions to the government ? Or is BJP shaken because of the increased awareness amongst the youth ?

Do we deserve to hear such type of things from our government officials ?

When we were in school and had doubts, we use to ask our teachers. At that time also there were some teachers who used to understand our doubts, even if they dint knew about it they use to gather information over it and used to clear our doubts. And there were some who use to get angry on us and use to ignore us.

But then you know in which case you got to learn. Same is the case with leaders.

So now its up to you that what type of leaders do you need - the one who ignore you and your questions or the one who take the responsibility to at least face you ?
